Parent and Child Wheel Pottery Class (Ages 12+)

About this Service

Create, connect, and get your hands muddy together in this special parent and child wheel pottery class. Designed for children aged 12 and up and their parent or guardian, this hands-on experience introduces the fundamentals of working on the pottery wheel in a relaxed and supportive environment.  

Participants will learn the basics of centering clay, shaping simple forms, and understanding the pottery process from start to finish. No prior experience is required—this class is perfect for beginners and curious creatives alike. Each parent–child pair will have guided instruction, individual wheel time to create 2-3 pots, and plenty of encouragement to experiment and have fun.

This class is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together, build confidence, and create meaningful handmade pieces to treasure.  

Each pot will be glazed (you chose the colour from our selection) and fired at a later date by myself for you to collect (firing and glazing charges for 3 pots pp included in the price).

This session is designed for a young person (between the ages of 12 and 16) and an adult.

The studio instructor holds a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the difficulty in filling places at short notice and to protect the business from significant losses, the following cancellation and refund policies are in place. If you wish to cancel or reschedule your place on any of the workshop/classes/sessions, you must do so 28 days before the start of the workshop/classes/sessions to receive a full refund/guarantee transfer or rescheduling. This gives us the opportunity to fill the space. After the 28 days before, we can not offer any refund, but maybe able to reschedule, if there is more than 14 days’ notice. We can not refund or reschedule any workshops/classes/sessions with less than 14 days’ notice, or after it has begun. If you are completing a 6/8-week course and cannot attend 1 of the sessions, we will try any reschedule the 1 missed session, at our discretion. If we have to cancel any of the courses for any reason, then you will receive a full refund, and where possible you will be given 5 days’ notice. If the course has already begun, you will be refunded for the remaining, undelivered sessions, if alternative arrangement cannot be satisfactory rescheduled for both parties
